You may ask yourself, “Why should I send my child to St. Hubert Catholic school especially when the public school offers a good educational program?” As parents, this is one of the most important decisions you can make for your child.
Catholic schools offer sound academic programs and prepare students to become life-long learners. The outcomes of these strong academic programs are evidenced through a number of statistics.
As an Archdiocesan Catholic school system, our students’ test scores are consistently well above state and national norms. Our composite ACT scores of 22.9 compare to a state average of 20.9 and a national average of 21.1. Our 8th grade EXPLORE composite score in the city of Chicago of 17.5 compares to a Chicago Public Schools average of 14.2 and a national average of 14.9. In a school-by-school comparison, 82 percent of the Chicago Catholic schools outperformed all or most of the other local options including magnet and charter schools. The Archdiocese of Chicago boasts more Blue Ribbon schools than any other school system, public or private, in Illinois.
St. Hubert School was awarded the National Blue Ribbon by the United States Department of Education in 2014.
Education has been one of the fundamental ways the Catholic Church has served the Chicago and suburban communities for more than one hundred years. Our schools have educated and formed generations of Catholic children in our faith. Children of all faiths and socioeconomic conditions have received the best educations in our Catholic schools.
