Our Primary Grades focus on the development of literacy and math. Literacy instruction encompasses reading and phonics, spelling, as well as skills in grammar and writing. Cursive writing is taught to students to develop fine motor skills. Mathematics in the primary grades concentrates on mastery of basic facts, skills, and concepts. Fundamental skills are taught through the use of manipulatives, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
We strive to meet and develop the spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional needs of each child in a positive and caring environment.
The sacraments are discussed at each grade level with emphasis on Eucharist and Reconciliation preparation in second grade. The children participate in weekly Mass, service projects and liturgical events.
